Song Bird

He will flee like the song bird
Who only visits to sing.

He will flee like the song bird,
Who only visits to rest his wings.
But it wouldn't matter the slightest,
Since love will continue to harbor within,

His presence alone,
Could halt shadows from having their way,
With me,
He remains a most silent protector.
Forcing wonder in what stirs behind the shielded.
So long...
Yet she still knows nothing of what she will become.
Or where he will end up.

What of too much certainty?
Enough to bring a necessary change.

Nothing may collapse,
A passion,
Unfathomable,
Immense in weight.
For I find myself irreversibly sunken,
Momentarily,
When I forget,
How easily I may, too,
Fly away as the song bird always does.

Fly away by mere circumstance.
By too much tension in shoulders,
Always wondered by the latest fear.

Still, I am here.
Forever secured by the unknown.
